Through the scientific process of Nucleation Assisted Crystallization (NAC), the catalytic media transforms the calcium and magnesium minerals into harmless, Nano-sized crystal particles. The crystals remain suspended and do not adhere to pipes or heating elements. They also dissolve preexisting scale deposits.

The LSX Limescale filters do not remove the essential minerals of calcium and manganese from the water. A softener requires emptying salt bags which will remove these minerals and substitute them with salt. The LSX filters will not change the chemical composition of the water. It will suspend the minerals to prevent them from adhering to surfaces and will reduce the pre existing scale.

The existing limescale that has accumulated in the pipes, fixtures, and appliances will begin to break down and will flow out with the water. It is a process and you may initially experience evidence of the scale exiting. The hardness of the water does not change. What changes, is that the minerals will still be in the water but will not a have the damaging effect of the limescale buildup. The water will not have the silky feel that a softener generates.
